Digital Marketing

There is a misconception that Digital Marketing is only limited to marketing of products sold online.' But in reality, Digital Marketing can be explained as an umbrella term under which a lot of essential functions come. The major part of Digital Marketing is done online, but it is not limited to that only. In a simple sense, Digital Marketing can be interpreted as marketing on the digital platform, and it can be anywhere; a smartphone, digital billboards and any other digital media that you can think off.
In the recent years, the digital marketing trends have changed the way how businesses look at the target market. Now the digital platforms are given more importance than the traditional ones. All of this because of consumer's changing behaviour. People now prefer using digital devices instead of visiting a shop personally. Traditional marketing campaigns have now been replaced with digital marketing campaigns.

Digital marketing has many sub-parts like search engine optimisation (SEO), search engine marketing (SEM), content marketing, affiliate marketing, campaign marketing, social media marketing, direct e-mail marketing, etc. Now digital marketing is not limited to that only; it have been spread on offline medium too, via SMS, pop ups, digital billboards, TV, radio, etc

But the real question is why is this term bothering us so much? There is a transformational shift in the economy, and people are relying on digital platforms more for their business than traditional ways. Nowadays you can get anything with just a click of a button, and this is impacting our economy and our lives in a very positive manner. I believe "time is brutal and change is essential", so anyone who refuses to change with time gets knocked down. With increasing dependency on digitisation, we also have to stay aware of the trends in the market.
