How To Make Effective Presentation Slides?

Anyone can build an effective PPT. It doesn't require special skills to make effective presentation slides. Earlier we had to use fancy texts, frilly transitions and gaudy animations to stand apart from the crowd, but this isn't the case now. Being simple is the key Following are the few tips and tricks can be kept in mind before making a presentation slide.

1. Use Simple Font
The idea is to use any font which is readable from a distance. Simple fonts like Arial and Times New Roman are preferred.

2. Background Tip
The presentation has to be in two styles.
i. Dark Background Light Font (My Personal Favourite)

ii. Light Background Dark Font

3. Animation - Don't use animation, until and unless necessary. Animations break audience's concentration, that is why I never recommend using animations.

4. Transitions - A simple transition would be enough in any presentation. Fancy transitions confuse the audience, and like animation, they break audience's concentration. A simple fade in - fade out is recommended.

5. Font Size - Font size should be considerably big enough so that audience can read it easily. Nothing less than 32 font size is acceptable.

6. Content on Slides - This is a really debatable point. Some prefer a lot of content in their presentation, and some are happy with only main points. The trick is to use less content on slides if slides are to be used for presentation purpose. If the slides are to be sent to someone, then the slides are expected to be self-sufficient in terms of content.

7. Use of Colours - Use colours judicially. You can highlight the important words with a different colour but make sure to us the same colour throughout.

8. Text Formatting - Use consistent formatting throughout the slides. Which means the font size and style should remain same throughout the slides.

No unusual presentation would work without effective presentation skills.
